The Internet has evolved to what people are calling Web2.0 is it any wonder that Internet advertising has evolved as well? The most recent permutation of Internet advertising is Pay Per Play or ppp.
Pay Per Play is an adaptation of the old Pay Per Click advertising. The difference being that with Pay Per Play there is no need for anyone to click on the ad to get the message.
PPP is here to stay despite the opposition. You either jump on the bandwagon or you are left on the side.

Pay per play (ppp), the concept is simple. You record an ad message and it gets played on the websites of the affiliates/members registered to deliver these ads. For each instance that the ad is played, a set amount of money is charged, thus pay per play. What could be so harmful about this? According to the opponents of this concept, it infringes upon people by playing a recorded message that they did not request to listen to, and this distracts from whatever they are doing on the Internet.
According to the proponents of ppp those concerns are meritless. First, say the proponents of ppp, the ads that are played are up to five seconds in duration, they only play once per visit and a person would have to be on a website for three or more minutes before a different ad is played.
So why is this advertising concept causing a “civil war” if you will on the internet?
One of the proponents of ppp and the VP of voicetopage.com, the company that is actually promoting ppp, Larry Host explains that the concerns raised are legitimate but baseless. According to Host, several years of testing and retesting, developing and redeveloping have gone into the formation of ppp. After extensive research it has be ascertained that five seconds is the optimal length of time for A) a person to record the message in the brain, B) not long enough to be irritable.
There have always been nay sayers whenever a new concept is brought forth. Just look back in time to the Wright Brothers. When they came up with the concept of man flying many called them crazy and fools. Yet decades later man is actually landing on the moon. Or think back to Galileo refuting the establishment by stating the earth rotated around the Sun and not vis versa. Or Columbus’ notion that the world was round not flat as had been the conventional wisdom for centuries.
The fact of the matter is that the world is evolving at a mind numbing pace, in fact it is said to be moving as fast as the Internet. People want information and they want it now. The is one of the reasons that RSS (really simple syndication) took off so fast. People want instant gratification.
While many are saying that the concept of ppp will die instantly, that it will not even get off the ground, others say that it is inevitable and that once it catches on everyone will be using it and it will be part of the accepted landscape.
The first industry to begin feeling the impact of the Internet infringing on it’s “turff” was print media. As more people began getting there news online newspaper sales began to plumet. The second industry to feel it was the music industry. Downloading music and stores like Itunes have almost done in with the music industry. It is more practical to download a song to one’s Ipod or mp3 player than it is to buy a CD to play at home. And with the advent of Youtube, even television is feeling the Internet’s stranglehold on advertising dollars. The only advertising medium left for the Internet to go toe to toe with is the Radio Broadcasting Industry. Lets face it, radio is limited in reach and in audience. The Internet is universal. It would not matter where the website playing the audio ads is located so long as the content in relevant to what the surfer is looking for.
As people spend more time on the internet surfing, shopping, socializing, watching TV, movies or video, advertisers will follow. It is a basic business rule - supply and demand. The evolution of the Internet tells us that more business will be conducted online not less, and advertisers will seek out new and creative ways to get their message out.
Whats your opinion? I’d like to know.

I have been online for serverl years trying to make money. I was one of those people that tried every new gimmick the so-called guru’s recomeneded. Yet I never made any money. My problem was, and still is to a lesser degree, that I am very impatient and if I did not see results in a couple of days I’d move on. Everyone knows that in order to be successful one has to keep their nose to the grindstone and work at it. My rationale for not doing so was that if I wanted to work hard I would have kept my 9 to 5 job. Deciding to make a go at it online was so that I could spend time with my two daughters. At the time they were babies, now they are teenagers.
Anyway, I jumped from one venture to the next. Earning a couple of thousand here, a couple of hundred there but never never earning any real or substantial income.
Thoughout this time my wonderful wife kept the family afloat. She had some interesting and somewhat lucrative positions. She is a business consultant and does well. Then she decided that she wanted to try her hand at Real Estate. So she studied, took and passed the Real Estate Agents exam and became licensed as a Realtor.
So after helping my wife with her online real estate presence I learned that there was a niche I could wrap my hands around and make some money. This was a niche that I could see myself “sticking” with, and now I am going to share it with you (whoever the YOU is).
The concept has already been laid out and elaborated on adinfinitum, but at the risk of being redundant I will explain it once more. With an initial investment of roughly $500.00 U.S and a monthly fee of about $80.00 you can net about $3000.00+ every month.
To put it in a nut shell, the business you are about to embark in is the free hosting services. Do not be fooled with the term free. You will be making your money back ten fold in no time at all.
With this concept, as with all business ideas online and off, you must use sound logic and take mesured and reasonable risks. I am going to explain the concepts and you use them if you think they could work for you. I am writing from personal experience because I chased the elusive BIG BUCKS and spent a whole lot more than I made back until I found my niche.
There are arguements on both sides of this issue. Many people will advise you to stay away from a free hosting venture. They will argue, and quite logically to, that no one has ever gotten rich by giving anything away. On the other side of the coin, there are those, myself included, that beleive that there have been. One case in point is Bill Gates. His concept of Internet Explorer is the best proof that giving something away can infact make you rich. In the earky days of the internet revolution Mr. Gates had the foresight to see that everyone was going to need a browser in order to “surf the web.” While America Online was charging a fee for peope to get access to the internet and making a huge pile of money upfront, Mr. Gates was negotiating with all the computer manufacturers to install his software for free. Soon the internet revolution took hold and everyone was buying PC’s. Meanwhile AOL was cornering the internet market. Mr. Gates continued with his concept of giving away Internet Explorer for free with every PC. After a while three quarters of all PC’s in the world were using Mr. Gates free software and then his company came out with a new product called “Windows.” The catch was the it required Internet Explorer to function.
AOL subsequently went belly flop and Bill Gates’ Internet Explorer continues to capture the market. By the time Mr. Gates stepped down as Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, it was said that he was one of the richest, if not the richest man on earth.
So you make up your own mind. Do not let anyone discourage you if you have a passion.
STEP ONE.
You will need a domain name. A domain name is sort of like the street address to your website. Since we are going to be giving away free web hosting you will want to get a domain name that aludes to that fact. Now dont do want all the other free hosting services do you have got to find a niche and you have got to be different. My niche is real estate. Yes, I craved myself a nice niche giving away single listing websites to real estate agents and/or brokers. Let me explain real quick what a single listing website is. When someone hires a realtor to sell their home, this is called a listing. The realtor has to “list” that home with the local “multiple listing service”. To be diffrent and gain more business realtors have to do different things to stand out. So by providing each client a website dedicated to their own home it becomes easier to sell the home. The client feels good and tells all their friends about the website. Lets use my hosting service as an example. My free hosting service is called your-listing.info. So everyone that signs up for my free service will have a sub-domain with your-listing.info as the end of there url. So say the client home is 123 Main Street, I would create a website called 123mainstreet. The url would look like this http://123mainstreet.your-listing.info. Simple right?
So think about your niche and spend some time searching for the ideal domain name to personify your new business. Slow down, I know you want to know how you are going to make money giving away websites. We will get there I just want you to see the whole picture. By the way, Please use my domain service to register any domain names. I guarentee that the prices are competitive with Godaddy and the other domain registrars, and the service is as good or better. Check it out here http://suave.srsportal.com/ if you want to become a domain name reseller I welcome you, check out the opportunity here, ok, so moving right along.
STEP TWO.
Now you will need a server from which you will give away your websites from. There are so many services available, some will even tell you that you could begin a free hosting business by simply having a reseller account. For a little more than it would cost you to become a reseller, why not get your own server? Check out the various options available here. I stated with a standard dedicated server. It cost me just 79.99 per month and Floyd is awesome. This is a small company with a solid background. No need to worry about this business going under. Floyd has been at it since the early 1990’s and provides top notch customer service. Beleive me if you are new at this you do not want to be an anonymous customer to a big company. Floyd provides personnal touch and you’ll appreciate this when you need to ask questions. He also has an excellent community of dedicated people and we help eachother out on the forum.
This link will take you to the page to buy the server you need to start your free hosting business.
STEP THREE.
Now we’re getting down to the nitty gritty. The backbone of your entire enterprise is the software used to partition your server, give away websites, track usage, and everything else. There is no software better for this than Layered Panel. You can shop around and I know you will come back to Layered Panel. It almost seems like all roads in the free hosting business lead to Layered Panel. Layered Panel is the control panel software that you will use to maintain and manage your newly established free hosting business. It is an easy to use program that basically does all the work for you.
Layered Panel is the company that started it all. Check out there demo’s here:
Features - of Layerd Panel free hosting script.
Demo - of Layered Panel free hosting script.
Order - Layered Panel free hosting script.
I recommend that you get the package that includes the owned Layered Panel license with lifetime updates, upgrades and patches and professional installation.
When you order the package I suggested above, what you have are basically doing is hiring the Layered Panel staff to set up and manage your entire free hosting website for six months. This means that they will handle all tech issues if/as they arise and all you have to do is respond to any email received from your customers and pay your monthly server fees.
If after the initial six month period lapses you would like to continue to have Layered Panel manage your website you can re-hire them to do so.
One of the down sides to running a free hosting service is the amount of spam and/or illegal material that could potentially be uploaded to your server. The Layered Panel staff does a great job at blocking this type of junk but there is one extra precaution that you can take.
After your Layered Panel system is installed ensure that you check the box to block the following countries that from using your service. These countries are known for harboring illegal Internet activity.
1) China
2) Japan
3) Iran
4) Iraq
5) Hong Kong
6) Brazil
7) Nigeria
Indonesia
While not everyone from these countries is involved in online illegal activity, you’ll want to block them simply as a safety precaution.
Ok, so now it’s time to answer the million dollar question for you. How do I make money giving away free web sites? Let me answer you like this, bare with me ok? Do a search for “Free Hosting.” Use google, yahoo, ask.com and others. You will find several websites that offer 100% free website hosting. How can they afford to offer free hosting, you are asking, or better yet why should I offer free hosting? The answer is really quite simple, because it is extremely profitable!
Remember, you are starting this because you want to make money. This is a business venture with one, and only one objective — Making Money. So, this is what you’ll want to do, and please pay real close attention because this is the heart and soul of your cash cow. First you will want to affiliate with a high paying hosting company. Believe me, this is going to generate a really nice and steady income stream for you.
Look at the bigger picture, think Bill Gates. As you offer free hosting services, in no time at all you will have hundreds of new users a day coming to your website to use and/or sign up for your services. The way to make money is by up selling a paid hosting service through your affiliate link. It’s that simple. You see, you give away a website with just enough features to get the person “hooked,” you provide great tips on developing a business, you provide some basic tools to get them started. Then once they are ready to take that next step, you encourage them to upgrade to one of “your” packages. Hosting companies are paying affiliates from $65.00 to $125.00 per month for each client refered to them. So it would behoove you to treat you “free” customers right and then gentlty guide them to one of your affiliate programs to upgrade.
The hosting company I recommend is Thinkhost. You can not find a better partner than Thinkhost. First, Thinkhost is a planet friendly company, second, they have a long history online, third, they pay regularly and on time, and fourth their payment structure is very lucrative. They will pay you $100.00 U.S. per customer, AND, they pay on three levels! This is truely an awesome deal. On top of that, they provide a genuinely wonderful hosting service.
I know that this may seem a little overwhelming but this is actually a very simple system to set up.
